Why Australian Labradoodles?

When Michelle started searching for the perfect family dog in 2012, she wanted a dog that does well with kids, doesn’t shed, doesn’t drool, and isn’t overly energetic or hard to train. A friend suggested the Australian Labradoodle, and she was hooked. Here’s why so many families feel the same way.

Wonderful family companions

Australian Labradoodles are known for their friendly, gentle and intuitive personalities. Our foundation female became a pet therapy dog at just 13 months old, and our families tell us again and again how easy their puppies are to train.

Low shedding coats

Australian Labradoodles shed very little, which is one reason so many families love them. Our dogs have soft fleece coats, and families can also ask about wool coats on our application. Their coats do need regular brushing and trips to the groomer, and puppies start getting their adult coat at about 9 to 12 months old.

Sizes

Our dogs are minis and mediums. Each litter on our Upcoming Litters page lists the expected adult size, estimated from the parents’ height and weight.

Colors

Our puppies come in shades like cream, apricot, caramel, red, chocolate, black, parti and phantom. Labradoodle coats often change as they grow up, especially chocolates and reds, so the color at 8 weeks may lighten over time.

Multi-generation Australian Labradoodles

Australian Labradoodles are a distinct breed, first developed in Australia, and are bred Australian Labradoodle to Australian Labradoodle over many generations. As a member of the Australian Labradoodle Association of America (ALAA), we register our dogs with the ALAA and health test our breeding dogs. You can see each dog’s results on Meet Our Doodles.
